The bus rumbled beneath her, a vibration that echoed the tremor in Sarah’s hands. She stared out the window, the cityscape a blur. She clutched the tattered copy of her rejected manuscript, "The Ghost of the Bookstore" against her chest. She had a strange feeling when she saw the article – the same story had been published. But under a different name.

The air seemed heavy, pressing in on her. She felt a cold dread settling in her bones. She couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, of being cheated.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. She must act. But the world, for the moment, was a confusing haze.
